About us
Kigoro Dairy, located in Gatanga, Muranga, was founded on September 1st, 2015, by 50 members committed to improving their dairy farming practices. Initially, the cooperative collected just 194 liters of milk, paying out Sh. 8,225 in its first month. Despite these modest beginnings, the members persevered, steadily growing the cooperative.
In 2018, the cooperative received its first milk cooler, which was filled within two months, prompting a second cooler donation from the government. Today, Kigoro Dairy has grown to 1,200 members, collecting over 234,000 liters of milk monthly and paying out more than Sh. 10 million to smallholder farmers.
Thanks to strong leadership and strategic partnerships, Kigoro Dairy offers its members training, artificial insemination (A.I.) services, veterinary care, feeds, and biogas systems at discounted rates, continually supporting the welfare of its farmers.
